Overview of the Course

CA Final exams are the last stage to achieve the "glory for the efforts" and to obtain most prized the Certificate of Membership from the coveted Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. This also opens up the gate for professional life with innumerable career opportunities.

Here is a brief overview:

Eligibility: To register in the CA Final Course;
          1. Should have passed CA Intermediate exams.
          2. Attended Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS)

Duration: The CA Final Course consists of two groups with three papers each, making a total of six papers. The course can typically be completed within 30 months of registration which includes 24 months of Articleship and also Advanced Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ACITSS).

Subjects: The course curriculum covers advanced learning of a wide range of topics and the subjects are divided into two groups:
         Group I:
         1. Financial Reporting
         2. Advanced Financial Management
         3. Advanced Auditing, Assurance & Professional Ethics
         Group II:
         1. Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation
         2. Indirect Tax Laws
         3. Integrated Business Solutions

Examination: The CA Intermediate examinations are held twice a year, usually in May and November. The exams are conducted in a pen-paper mode.

Examination Pattern: Each paper in the CA Intermediate exam is for 100 marks. Students has the option of writing any of the group separately thereby giving undivided attention on three subjects only which in-turn increases the probability of success in the exams. Students aiming for All India Rank, require to write both the groups together.
Students need to score a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and should also obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from all the papers to clear the group.

Preparation: Preparing for the CA Final requires practical approach, common sense, dedicated effort and an expert understanding of the subjects. Students are advised to join INVENIO ACADEMY wherein experienced and passionate Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, and Advocates are coming together to deliver high quality and result oriented education with a focus on ensuring students success in the exams.

Many students opt for self-study with the help of study materials provided by ICAI or attend online classes, which in our view is not adequate for achieving desired results.

Articleship: After registering for CA Final, students are required to undergo two years of articleship training under a practicing Chartered Accountant. It may be noted that students are required to attend Advanced Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ACITSS) before they appear for CA Final exams.

Career Opportunities: As soon as you succeed in CA Final examination, you are permitted to add the prefix 'CA' before your name.
You will be in demand in all the entities wherever Accounting, Assurance, Taxation, Finance and Business Advisory Services are required. Thus it is imperative that Chartered Accountants have abundant career opportunities not only in India but across the Globe.

For whatever reasons if the student is unable to succeed in clearing CA Final exams on their first attempt, on adherence of few conditions a certificate from ICAI will be issued as "Business Accounting Associate" which will open up several employment opportunities for the student in corporate sectors or at the offices of practicing Chartered Accountants wherein they can start their career at mid level Managerial positions with an annual salary ranging from Rs 4 lakhs to Rs 8 lakhs based on individual students ability and exposure during Articleship.

Well, this does not mark the conclusion of the students odyssey towards attaining the coveted title, 'Chartered Accountant'. Student can re-write the CA Final exams and successfully complete the course while pursuing their employment also.
